I have 21 buttons on my Windows toolbars to control MediaCenter 21.  

Some call MC21.exe directly, others call windows batch files and others call unix ksh scripts which ultimately call MC21.exe or MCWS.  I also control MC via RF/IR remotes all over my house, which ultimately call Girder which calls those same MC21.exe or MCWS or those same windows batch files or unix ksh scripts.

I think I am *committed* to MC for a while... I know of no other audio program that offers so much in the way of external control of the core program.
