as the title says, when i try to start MC on my laptop it gives me that message and simply will not open.  reinstall and reboot don't work

the only thing that has changed is a windows update...my other laptop and desktop have received this update and they still work

anyone have an idea where to start looking?

edit:  forced a few other "not important" updates, reinstalled and rebooted and all is well.  Stupid windows.

I got the updates last night (Win 10). MC is running fine for me. Did Windows create a restore point before the update? Maybe restoring to that and checking if MC runs?

Did you try running as admin? (I'm not but maybe that is worth trying)

You could also try uninstalling the recent updates and see if that changes anything.
