Ripping New CD's as AIFF and not as m4a
« on: December 17, 2015, 09:28:58 pm »

1. I am new to MediaCenter. When I rip a new CD into my library, it appears as an "m4a" file. I would like all new CD rips to be AIFF files. How do I make that permanent change?

2. How do I eject the disc from the internal cd drive in my MacBook Pro, or my external Samsung CD drive using MediaCenter? When I hit "eject" in MediaCenter, nothing happens. I have to eject it manually.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1.  Tools > Options > Encoding > Encoder > (Choose AIFF here)
I personally wouldn't use AIFF, mainly because of the weird tagging.  FLAC is lossless and has robust, standardized tagging that many, many players support.

2.  I'm not sure.  I don't use MC to rip CDs.  I use a third party utility.  There have been several reports recently of unusual behavior with CD ripping.  Like this eject issue you're talking about.  Presumably the JRiver team is working on this.
