Images in Views not displaying, Ubuntu 14.04 latest MC
r1pp3r:
They do not.
The Display Window displays the image, but none of the views display any images other than the standard note.
I wiped out my .jriver folder, imported a single album. Cleared the tags, imported an image into the FLAC files, rebuilt the thumbnails, made sure the "image from file" was checked in options.
Nothing.
Is there anything else I can do?
r1pp3r:
Upgraded to Ubuntu 15.04, waited, new release of MC.
Nothing.
Using my test collection and the latest MC21, I removed the thumbnails, added the jpeg to the files using MC, rebuilt the thumbnails.
The logs say thumbnails are being created. But I still cant see the thumbnail anywhere but the Display Window, bottom LHS.
If these problems continue I shall be asking for my money back. If MC21 is that broke - and imo it is - then don't sell licences for any distribs other than the ones you support.

I doubt this has anything to do with the distro since others are running MC as you are without the issue you describe.
There are bugs in the noveau XWindows video driver if you are running that it may be your problem.
It could also be that you are doing something out of the ordinary and have run into a generic problem we haven't seen yet.
Are the media files on your local drive?
Are you running as a user and not root?
Are you storing the images separately and/or in tags?
Are the images jpeg or something else?

Thank you for your reply.
I'd be surprised if it was the Video Driver as the Display Window (bottom LH corner of the MC window) displays the picture perfectly. Also, when I do "Tools->Cover Art->View (first file)" up it pops.
I tried rebuilding the thumbnail. I looked at the log, and it does appear to be picking up the image and doing something with it.
To answer your your questions
1. USB3 Drive
- As a test, I cleaned the library, copied files to the local disk and reconstituted the library. Same issue.
2. User
3. Both.
- I used the MC utility to fetch and store the JPG image.
4. JPEGS
