I would like to have the option to globally set the default minutes for the "early recording start time" for all subscriptions. The current programing always defaults to "start recording 1 minute early".

I know I can manually go into each individual subscription's recording options and set "Start recording early by x minutes" to "0" for each subscription. When I remember in advance.

But it would be preferable to have the choice to globally set the "default" fore the minutes to start recording early, in the "TV Options>Recording>"Subscription Default -" section.

I have never seen a reason to start recording early. The current default setting of "1 minute" just gives me the end of the previous show and some commercials.
Thanks for your consideration.

You can click "Save Settings as defaults" button.

I don't understand. Where/how is that done?

I'm talking about a global default setting to be used for future subscriptions - where you click the record button (no questions need to be asked) in Theater View and all of the default settings are applied. I don't see a way to make "start recording early by 0 minutes" a default.

I'm thinking it would be added to this group:

It's already there, isn't it?

These defaults are set when you schedule your next recording. Refer pic.

Ah ha! That's what Yaobing was referring to.

So you open an existing recording rule, then set "Start recording early by 0 minutes" and hit "Save settings as defaults".

Not where one would expect to find a global default setting.

What happens to the other settings on that page? Will the other settings on that page for "Priority" and Clean Up" mode also become a global default? Or does it just apply to the specific recording rule I'm working in?

UPDATE: Okay I tested this - and it does set it up a "global default" for all future recordings. It also sets everything else on that page (whatever was selected for "Cleanup mode" and "recording priority") as a global default. But I can live with that. I think it would be better to put these settings in the screen shot location I posted above (I like grouping settings), but now that I know where they are - I'm good.
