Video file corrupted after shutting down Media Center
« on: February 04, 2016, 08:04:17 pm »

I am running build 42 of MC 21.

A few nights ago I tried exiting MC without stopping a scheduled recording.
I was prompted that the recording was in progress, but since there were less than 2 minutes left in the show, I went ahead and exited.

I restarted MC 21 a few seconds later and as expected a second file started recording the show.

Later I tried to play the first file containing 56 minutes of the show but it just won't play.
The second file plays just fine.

When you say "exited" do you mean you closed the program? Are you running "Media Server" (is there an icon on the task bar)?
Are you using the ts or jtv recording format?

What format do you use for TV recordings?

At shutdown time, MC does send Stop-recording to all tuners.  I wonder why shutting down would cause a recording to be corrupt.

I am using jtv.

Yes, I exited the program and was reminded that there were active recordings.
