XMLTV import broken in 21.0.45
« on: February 09, 2016, 03:57:51 pm »

Hi

I use the XLMTV import to get EPG data from IceTV in Australia. The automatic import has stopped working for me in 21.0.45.

I installed 21.0.42 and it worked fine again. Reinstalled 21.0.45, and it doesn't work. It gets as far as opening a CMD window and downloading the file, but the import of that data doesn't happen.

Back to 21.0.42 again.

There was a change in 21.0.45 that may have affected your XMLTV setup.

Quote
21.0.45 (2/4/2016)

1. Changed: Added a time-out user configuration for EPG loading when running an external XMLTV application inside MC (previously we used a hard-coded 20 minutes value).

In my case I had a very old XMLTV import configuration, which I deactivated, and the reactivate a just as old download of EPG with import configuration. It sort of mucked up my settings a little bit, or maybe just confused me!

Anyway, just go through your EPG collection setup and fix your settings, and perhaps remove any old stuff that you don't need. If you are running the IceTV collection from within MC, you may want to extend the timeout setting to make sure the collection and load always finishes. But that may not be necessary. Once I did that my XMLTV EPG Collection (using EPG Collector) and data load worked fine. I don't think XMLTV is broken in 21.0.45.

Upgrade to 21.0.45 again, then go to Options/Television, select the tuner profile you are using, then select Configure and run through the process.

Sorry, I take that back. Something is broken in the XMLTV load. It looks like the change for the timeout setting doesn't work correctly. Stick with .42 and I'll report what I am seeing to JRiver.
