Currently playing couple of 70s uk band CD's and the background images are from  some jokers from the states (I assume).

Background images are often wrong/out of date. Is there anyway to improve their accuracy/relevance to tracks playing?

Search for "theme" in the options window then click it and disable the online media slideshow from that menu.

Most of the wrong entries for my media come from Google. On Tools > Options > Theater View > Appearance > Theme > Online Media Slideshow, you need to uncheck "Google images."
