DSP Feature Request -  2.1ch (inside a 4 channel container) and 3.1 ch (inside a 4 channel container)

In only use a 3.1 HT set up and this way I can get either 2.1ch or 3.1ch output from MC and use dsp peq and/or room correction bass management to cross over my mains to the sub at say 100hz and use my Focusrite 2i4 (which only has 4 output channels) as a DAC.

Is this a difficult request to implement?

I can see a real world use for this for people who have 2.1 or 3.1 set up and dont have a 6 channel or greater external DAC/sound card as MC can only output 2.1 or 5.1 in a 6 channel container.
