Airplay with MC20 on a Mac
« on: October 22, 2015, 08:16:54 pm »

I have installed MC20 and want to play FLAC files to a stereo via an Airplay music receiver. Airplay comes up as an Audio Device in Playback Options but when I try to play a file I get the following message ... Something went wrong with playback. Details: Playback could not be started on the output 'Core Audio' using the format '48kHz 2ch'. This output format may not be supported by your hardware. You can use DSP Studio to change the output to a compatible format. Also, make sure your system has a valid sound playback device and that it is properly configured in playback options.
I don't have any problem using Airplay with iTunes or Spotify.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Brian,
I have the precise problem you had. if you found a solution i would love to know. I just got off the phone with apple tech support and I feel like they have nothing but excuses and finger pointing (third party software and third party amp). I am really disappointed with apple about this and will likely load Windows on the computer and use Winamp and the airplay plugin that they have that works perfectly. Apparently they can implement Airplay better than apple. Of course I have not found much more than a work around here as well. but its a real pain in the butt when you have to manually set this up every time.
