Window resizing
mcollier:
Window resizing has been glitchy since.... forever. I'm running Gnome on Debian Stretch 64bit. Are others experiencing issues with this? These are the same issues I've been seeing since the beginning of the linux releases, I just assumed they would eventually be addressed, but I haven't seen any improvement for a while.

This is a known issue. I just maximize it and leave it that way.

If you hold down alt while resizing it works much, much better. The safest thing, though, if you're using Gnome is to use "snap" window hotkeys, which handle 95% of my use cases with no problems (super + up to maximize, super + left to take just the left half of the screen, super + right to take the right half of the screen, there are more like that). You can't make an arbitrary window size with the hotkeys but you can usually get the window into the most common part screen configs that way which is often enough. And they work instantly and everytime.
