Audio sound and sleep mode
« on: March 22, 2016, 04:23:03 am »

Hi,

Apologies for raising a very old problem here, but it seems not to have been fixed yet. I run MC21 on a Mini in bootcamp and it works like a dream, except ... for restoring audio sound after it has gone to sleep. Every time I want to listen to music after it has gone to sleep I have to start a video (doesn't appear to matter which) which restores the audio and only then can I go back to listening to music. Is it something in my settings? Any suggestions what to check?

Are you running the Windows version?

Are you using the Stop button before it sleeps?

Sorry, yes Windows 7 (I assumed Bootcamp automatically means Windows) and yes, I stop playback before letting it go into sleep mode. I am pretty sure even quitting MC21 itself results in this error, but I am not 100% sure (I'll try it).

This more of a bump as I know nada about Macs running bootcamp .... but I'd guess that it is the MAC OS that puts the mini in sleep mode right? Have you set your audio parameters to run in exclusive mode? If so maybe try to take that option off .

Otherwise, might want to re-post this in the MAC part of the forum, pretty sure this has something to do with the primary mac os and bootcamp rather than JRiver ... maybe a Mac user might know whats up with this and might not be reading the Windows forum?

Can you try it on a machine that isn't running Bootcamp?  It could be a Bootcamp problem.

I'll do that but I haven't installed MC on any windows machines apart from the MacMini, so it will probably be a few days before I get round to that.

What type of sound driver are you using?  (WASAPI, directsound, etc)

I wonder if a different type of driver would behave differently?
