pono player SD card artist tag not recognized

Hey folks,

Just getting going with pono and have some grateful dead 24bit flac shows and I imported into the library and then applied tags. two shows... used exact tag methodology and both have all tracks marked in "artist" tag as Grateful Dead. When I transfer these to the SD card in the player via the ponoworld software one show is seen as artist = "grateful dead" and the the other as "unknown artist". can't for the life of me figure out why. When I look at the files on the SD car via ponoworld all the tracks read as artist = grateful dead. so weird.

any help appreciated.

PMW may not be writing the tags to the files themselves.  PMW has an internal database that stores all of the tags:  Writing them to the files is optional.  It is controlled by this setting:

Tools > Options > General > Importing & Tagging > update tags when file info changes

Make sure that is checked.  Then try to force PWM to re-write the tags to the files:

<highlight the files><right click> Library Tools > Update tags (from library)
