Using latest beta.  Is it typical that finding new media files should take approx. 1 second per song?  I have a total of about 8500 songs.  When first invoking media search it was fast, then slowed to a second per song when it got to about 5500.  Using lots of CPU cycles.  approx. 98%.

It's not typical for me but my system is faster than yours.  I import about 20K tracks in under half an hour.  Can't say exactly how long 'cos I haven't done it lately.  I know it's CPU intensive but should certainly not be taking 1 sec per song.  It sounds like a system issue rather than MC.

Provide some information about where your files are stored on your hard disk.  Do you try running any other applications at the same time or do you have loads of background services running? (is your system tray full of C**p?).  Provide all of your system info (Help>System info).

Last couple of builds are painfully slow at importing and searching. Maybe the action window is robbing some priority?
