Tag information not saved when converting FLAC to MP3
« on: April 26, 2016, 01:06:49 pm »

Unlike MC20, and previous versions, MC21 is not saving Tag information when converting from FLAC to MP3.

ALL Tag information in the MP3 is missing.

that's not fun.

Just tested FLAC=>Mp3 and all my tags that fit in an ID3.2 container get written to file. Not sure what to suggest, as I can't reproduce this. (v21.0.75).

How did you verify that the tags were not written to the file? Did you do a tag dump on the mp3?

I am not sure what you mean by a "Tag Dump," but I did what I have always done, I loaded the MP3 files in MC.

This is not the only problem I have had with MC21.  The MP3 converter wouldn't encode higher than 160.  It wasn't until I downloaded the latest Lame.exe file that it finally worked correctly.

I have been tempted to go back to MC20, which I will have to do if I can't correct my current problem.
