Lost left main navigation pane
« on: May 03, 2016, 11:52:37 am »

For years my mediacenter layout had a navigation pane on the left that gave me access to all my views (artists, albums, new, lossless etc.), devices, you name it.

All that vanished minutes ago for reasons I cannot explain. Even worse, it does not possible to restore this from backups, though I can "see" my views when I set up a new view. There I am asked under which item I want to place the new view. I am really confused, completly unaware of having changed a thing. What happened, how can I fix it?

You might have hit the arrow on the little splitter to hide the tree.

Just click the arrows pointing the other way at the left of the player.

Just found that I cannot change the skin, also. Had the impression that the program tried to and bumped into something.

Next ran mediacenter as admin and e voila, everything is as it supposed to be. I am not aware of having changed anything systemwise.

I am running WinAntiRansom as ransomware protection, disabled this - did not help. Security is standard microsoft stuff.

Any idea what might be wrong?

Did not find what caused this. Uninstall/Install solved the problem though. Most of my settings were saved with the library backup, others (like renaming rules, plugins etc.) unfortunately were not.

RMCF Presets are preserved in a Library backup. Is that what you mean by renaming rules?
