Is it possible to add a separation line with a custom colored tag in "playing now" playlist?

I was looking for some kind of divider, too. I found a solution which works pretty good at least for my needs.

I created an audio file only containing a few seconds of silence. You may choose a very short time to make it not interrupt your playback. For most visible fields a changed their value to "----------------" so I got an easy visible divider. You are able to change the font color of your divider by using HTML code (something like

<font color=00ff00>---------<font>.

I cannot think of a good way to add the divider automatically. You perhaps could add a silent file at the beginning of each of your albums, but that would only work if you always listen to them in the right order. Wouldn't be a solution for me. But perhaps it works for you?!

For most zones I set MC to not play silence inside songs, so the silence file never gets played.

Good idea.

maybe even more options than a solid line with colour.  Graphical bar options for dividers to section of groups of artist/albums etc.  All with colour options.  Maybe just on the right click context menu when hovering over the bit between tracks in the playing now playlist.

While I can't prove it... I'd swear the old ReplayGain was more effective.
