Hello,

I have a pair of B&W MM1 plugged in and for some reason, no matter which output i choose, jriver always tries to play on the Core Audio output.  To add to that, i receive an error that says the following :

Playback could not be started on the output "Core Audio" using the format '44.1 kHz 2ch' .

No matter what i try in the DSP manager, nothing works.

The computer is a MacBook Pro 2.7ghz Intel Core i7, 8g ram under El Capitan (10.11.3)

First you should try selecting your B&W device from MC's audio menu:

Tools > Options > Audio > Audio Device > (select the B&W here)

Next, make sure that you haven't changed too much in the DSP Studio's Output Format section.  There are a LOT of things in this section.  If necessary we can reset them all one by one.

Be sure to quit MC and restart it after you make these audio changes.  Then try again.

This is on a brand new installation.  No changes has been made at all, its straight out of the box..  Please note : The MM1 are working well in iTunes.

*UPDATE*

It seems that i can play music on the MM1s but only with  network music (DNLA).  If i use a local file, the problem remains.. i tried with different files, different format, different location on the hard drive, different permissions, different ownership..

Can you play your local files to the built in speakers of the Mac?

Have you imported local files from a USB or internal hard drive?  Something sounds fishy...
