after concerting media
« on: June 28, 2016, 06:06:26 pm »

When a conversion is completed, the 'cancel' button doesn't change to 'OK' on 'Conversion Process' window. Of course, the progress bar is fully filled to 100%.
Usually, this looks like the conversion fails or is frozen on homestretch.
Users can regard it as an app error or not believe progress success.
The way of showing conversion progress window should be improved.

When I convert in the Action Window, when it finishes the page switches to saying "Conversion complete."  And there's a "Close" button at the bottom.

The page is still titled "Conversion Progress" but that doesn't seem unreasonable.

I wonder if you found some file that we're just hanging on?  What if you try a different encoder?

Thanks.

This issue was found for the first time when I converted flac files to mp3s. I waited for several minutes but 'conversion complete' or close butten didn't come out.
When I converted, I closed all other processes which can give influence on conversion.
I just used the built-in encoder with CBR/ABR encoding, 320k option. Fortunately converted files are all played well.
And, recently I found how to make sure of conversion completion. That is to click 'details' on action window of conversion progress and check the status field from the right side pane(see screenshot).

All of my flac files have the tags created by MC Analyzing and those of title/artist/album/track/genre/comment/year/lyrics made with MP3TAG.
I tested more with other encoders and found conversions are all successful, but sometimes 'conversion complete' and 'close' butten normally comes, sometimes not come out regardless of files and encoders.

Would you be willing to make one of the FLAC files available to me (matt at jriver dot com)?

I tried a bunch of FLAC files I have and they all convert completely.  So there must be something special about the file you're using.

Thanks.

Thanks.  I tried three random files from there and they all convert completely and switch MC to "Conversion complete".

Could you find just one file that always stalls?

Thanks.

[ふらいんぐうぃっち] シャンランラン feat.96猫.flac

This file never comes out 'conversion complete' with 10 times tries my changing encoders, but I'm not sure if it is always unsuccessful with more additional tries.
Check the link again.

Well that's strange.

I convert that file using MP3 "CBR / ABR 320 kbps" and it just completes perfectly.

Just for kicks I tried the same file on another Windows PC and even a Mac.

It converted just fine!

I also think this is kainda weird, but looks not so serious.
Clean reinstallation just helped to increase the rate of showing 'conversion complete' and close button after conversion.
I compared all files converted from a flac file, and found they had the same hash value as each other regardless of how the action window appears.
I don't care if every conversion is always actually completely successful.

If other users have the same issue as me, plz add replies.
