JRiver stops running/buffering

Howard:
Hi-
  I've been using JRiver 18 on my old win7 computer (used only as a music server).  Lately a problem that has always very occasionally existed has become much more pronounced: it stops playing and instead of the line that shows the time left in a song it says "buffering".  After a short while the music comes back on and plays for awhile and then the same thing happens again.  Any help will be much appreciated.

Antivirus software can do this.  So can limited bandwidth of a network or limited CPU.
