Gain structure changed in MC22? VST-Plugins

I just noticed a strange behaviour if I use the same HearV3 VST-plugin (from Flux) in MC22. I get clipped sound if I use the same volume: internal volume disabled (max), same as it was in MC21, where it worked well.
I can remedy by lowering the volume to -12dB in the HearV3 VST-plugin. In MC21 it just was okay with 0dB.

Something in the gain structure changed obviously. What exactly?

I would like to have a drawing (flow diagram with the levels). I still have no clear picture how it works with the different DSP options. Obviously the internal processing is not everywhere 64-Bit floating point!
