"Next" menu option (Cntrl-N) grayed out

Rohmer50:
With an album's worth of tunes loaded, I can only seem to play the first tune in the stack.  If I double-click or right-click on anything other than the first tune, I see the display briefly read "Buffering" but then it stops executing the playback.  I notice that the option "Next" in the Player menu is grayed out.  I must be missing something.  Any ideas?

JimH:
Please describe your setup.  OS, MC version, filetypes, how you're playing, etc.

Rohmer50:
Sure.  Using a Dell laptop, Windows 7.  Just upgraded to v. 22, but this was happening with 21 also.  USB connection to a Musical Fidelity D-VAC2 converter.  Small Western Digital USB drive holds the music library--WAV files I ripped from CD with "Rip" for Mac.  I can play the first track of any album fine.  No subsequent tracks will play.

Matt:
So if you start playback on track 2 from the album, it just doesn't work?

That sounds like cooked files honestly.

Rohmer50:
That's what I thought too, but I can play them with VLC or iTunes.  I'll try to play files from another source.  Thanks.
