Windows 10 display scaling affects scaling of MadVR
« on: August 13, 2016, 07:41:25 am »

Hi not sure if this can be considered a bug but thought I'd report it anyway.

I just got a 4K screen and when windows 10 display scaling is set to anything higher than 100%, it limits the scaling of MadVR by the amount of display scaling you've used on the desktop.
ie - if you set 150% scaling in display settings for a 4K screen (which is windows default for 4K) and have MadVR set to upscale to 4K it will only scale to 2560x1440. If you turn desktop display scaling off then MadVR will scale properly to 4K.

Impressive picture at 4K with quad 64nnedi3 upscaling for everything.
Those settings pushed my GTX1080 to 88% utilisation for a 1080P fullscreen movie.

I don't have the problem on a LG 4k TV and windows scaling is set to 300% . madVR options: Under general settings I use D3D for presentation. I disabled all options trade quality for performance.

Interesting to hear how an GTX 1080 performs. I have a EVGAV SC GTX 960, NEEDI and Jinc are out of order for scaling up 1080p. In principle one could also use the upscaler of the 4K TV to scale up 1080p. But in pop/rock concerts the movement of  my favorite "stars"  ;D is not as smooth as using only madVr for up-scaling.
