Can you make an onboard video card work with a new pci 2gb one at the same time

Im running a budget system and I was using an onboard (on the motherboard) 2g video card to power the computer monitor and also a hdmi out to a marantz sr 5007 reciever through to a hdmi led tv Im running 12 gig of ddr3 ram and have just bought a gigabyte radeon r7 360 oc card (2gig ddr5) can you combine the 2 video cards or can you use one to power the monitor only or is it not worth the trouble

Generally you can use multiple cards to power multiple display just fine.
