Television Setup
« on: August 21, 2016, 04:45:39 am »

Hi

I have installed JRiver for testing. My TV card is a "TerraTec Cinergy C PCI HD CI DVB-C PCI". Maybe someone can tell me what I am doing wrong in the tv setup wizard:

1. Your location: Switzerland / Format: JTV
2. Type of service: Digital cabel or satellite
3. Tuner type: (i can choose "Set-top Box"; "DVB-S"; "DVB-C" or "Sat>IP") -> i select "DVB-C" and checking my tv tuner with the option "Use highlighted device to perform actual scan"
4. "Tuning DVB-C2" channels is unchecked
5. EPG: mc2xml / Data source: standard$
------------NOW------------------
6. Providers: My Provider is not listed here -> ?

There are four providers listed for Switzerland. But they have different network settings.

My provider: "Localnet"    330000 6900 256QAM Auto 556

How can I manually set up my provider?

Thank you and best regards

Matt

DVBC frequency tables are in xml files in this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 22\TV\DVBC\

There are four files there for Switzerland - Switzerland.interGGA-GGAPratteln-EBM.xml, Switzerland.sasag.xml, Switzerland.thurcom.xml, and Switzerland.UPC Cablecom.xml.  One file per provider.  The files contain the frequencies and other tuning parameters of channels for the given provider.

You can created an xml file yourself.  Just copy one of the files, rename the copy Switzerland.localnet.xml, and then edit it in Notepad.

The file should contain entries like the following:

<Transponder Frequency="330000" Modulation="256QAM" SymbolRate="6900" />
