Audio path: input mp3 while playing from my music library

Hi,

After updating to 22.0.22, I noticed something strange in the Audio Path window. When playing music on my iMac from my music library (MacMini), the input is specified as 44.1 .... Mp3. Hence, the recording is a hires 24bits/96.000 file. Playing the same song on my server, the MacMini, Audio Path gives the correct input information.

I checked the settings for playing from a library. No output change.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Robert

JimH:
Check your settings for conversion in the DLNA Server settings on the server.

If you're playing from one Mac to another, it would be better to use Library Server.  The wiki has a topic on Servers.

If you're playing MC to MC using the Library Server functionality, I think the relevant option is:

Tools > Options > Media Network > Client Options > Audio Conversion > Conversion

I think you want "don't convert".

Hi,

Thanks for your quick response.

I'm using the Library Server Functionality, and the setting is "don't convert". Been that since I installed version 18.

I think you need that setting on the Client.  But maybe try it on the server too?

Also, the library structure has changed from MC21 to MC22 and client to server functionality isn't perfect when you connect MC22 to MC21.  I'm not sure of the details, I just know they are saying you should only be connecting 21 to 21 and 22 to 22.

Brian.
