I was having problems with MC 22 not properly deinterlacing video. The attached two images show the Columbia logo at the beginning of an MKV-contained rip of my "Guns of Navarone" Superbit DVD. The properly-deinterlaced one was from VLC, and the garbage-looking one was from MC -- I knew that could never by right, so I investigated here.
It happens that madVR seemed to be the culprit, but I could not determine how that was so. If I turned off madVR by not using ROHQ, then the deinterlacing problems went away. But, I need madVR sometimes, because I play 3D blu ray rips.
Solution: I have my 3D blu ray rips in .MK3D containers, and I switched MC Video preferences to "Custom," with a rule that starts with RO Standard, and only uses madVR for Container(mk3d).
This makes me appreciate the flexible options in MC.
