Tagging Music videos
« on: May 01, 2016, 01:36:33 am »

I have a number of files of various concerts, video clips, shows etc. I would like them all to appear is a Music Video library view. Could you suggest the best way to organize (tag?) the files to achieve this.
Plus some of the files aren't showing up in any of my library views, what can I do to make them appear?

Attached is the View I use for Music Video.  On tagging, set the
Media Type = Video
Media Sub Type = Music Video

Then tag Artist/Album etc just like you do with Audio

Ok, sorry.... it was  only showing default tags... not ALL tags... didn't think it was going to give me all those choices.

So, next question... since I have like 800+ videos can JR figure most of this out for me?
My naming structure is <artist - song>

And when I go to theater view these all come under video/other
Shouldn't there be a 'Music Video' under there?
And when in the videos I can only search by name, year, genre.... even after I tagged some songs with artist there is still no way to search by artist?

Posting this now but going to try to figure some of it out...

>>edit... I managed to get a Music Videos option on the main menu.
When I select it I have to click an icon with the drive letter where all my videos are stored. How can I get rid of that and take me right to the videos?
Also after I click it it takes me to a screen with all videos separated by artist which is great.

two things right now.
Most of my videos are mkv or mpg. with a few other stragglers involved.
When I select a band I get multiple icons to click... 'all file types' 'mkv' 'mpg' 'avi' etc.
I don't want to see that... I simply always want to see all of the videos.

Also while I would mostly likely browse by artist I wouldn't mind just have a full blown list of all videos to scroll through. How do I add search options like that?
Like browse by artist, genre, year, or simply all videos?

Well I'm pretty sure if you get them tagged correctly all you have to do is click Video to the left then choose Music Video and they all will be there in a sweet looking view.
