they don't seem to be working for me. Like I said, the plugins are grayed out at the moment. I can send post screenshots this evening.

No pop-ups and no errors whatsoever. I read that this was a bug with 22.0.22 and so downloaded 22.0.30 which said that it was fixed and sure enough, now, when I click on install plugins a finder window opens up but the .mjp file is grayed out for me.

I just re-read this.  I misunderstood the first time.  I thought you were talking about VST plugins, which are audio changing/manipulation plugins.  These are used with many different types of Audio software and MC supports them.

But you're talking about MC specific plugins.  MC plugins aren't for audio; they are enhancements to MC's functionality.  Those MJP files you are downloading are designed to be imported into the Windows version of MC.  They contain the address of the plugin (or skin) that you clicked on.

For skins, you can pull this address out of the MJP file and then download the *real* file from there.  For plugins, you're stuck.  MC for Mac does not support MC plugins.

Brian.

--- Quote ---You've got a lot of questions below.  I'm going to try to answer what I can, but we might want to break some of these out into their own threads if they require further discussion.

I'm happy to try to help you.  But when you have a lot of different questions in one thread, sometimes they get lost, or the people helping get over whelmed with so much to analyze at one time that they don't give effective help.  I'm speaking for myself here.  :)  On to the questions...

I remember another person here with the same device having problems with it and DLNA.  In the thread he opened, I asked if he would try connecting to the D7050 via USB or coaxial or optical digital.  He refused and never followed up with any additional information.  If you want to see the thread with a lot of problem reports from him, it's here:

https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=105251.0

I'm not sure if the D7050 can be made to work correctly with MC or not.  It might work great.  But it might be worth a try to connect to it directly with USB or coax as a test.

Thank you so much for the link. It seems like he had the same problem as me. He's mentioned a few fixes on there which I will try this evening and report back.

--- Quote ---So you mean using JRemote from outside your home network then right?  I know people do this all the time, but I haven't done it myself.  I prefer to have real local copies of my media on my devices.  Anyway, I think you're on to something opening the MC Media Network port (52199); that's how MC communicates.  I would probably open a thread about this in the Media Network forum where it will get attention from people that are very familiar with that.

Yes, I'm talking about accessing them from outside my home network. My primary phone is one sponsored by my company and it only has 16gb of space. That's the primary reason. The other reason is the fact that my music collection is not something that I can easily find on streaming services like Tidal and Spotify even though I have both.

--- Quote ---I'm unsure what the status of this is.  I can barely find any VST plugins that will install in MC.  In fact, I can only think of one that I have made work and I have it installed now.  The problem is, the current version of MC (22.0.30) will NOT uninstall this plugin.  So I can't test installation functionality because I can't find any VSTs that are compatible with MC.

I would open a separate thread on this here in the MC22 for Mac forum.

I shall do that. I tried to keep everything to one post since I felt like I'd be spamming if i multi posted ,especially consiodering I'm new to the forum. But I hear ya, I'll create issue specific threads and in the right forums.

Yes, I was talking about MC specific plugins, not VST, but, bummer!. I was mainly looking at Roomeq plugins. :(

Thanks once again for taking the time to answer all the questions. Really appreciate it, Brian.

I'm not sure what plugins you are referring to.  Room EQ implies sound changing.  MC's DSP Studio has convolution, which can be used with many different room correction platforms.

Otherwise, I would expect a "room eq" plugin to be VST and not MC specific.  Again, MC "plugins" aren't for sound.  They are for things like visualizations, overlays on displays, communicating track change information, etc.  VST plugins are for changing sound characteristics (like equalization, etc).

Brian.
