Moving Imported Files
« on: April 20, 2017, 12:48:20 pm »

I have imported a number of mp3 files into JRiver. It took a while to get this right since I believed the verb "import" was used correctly.  ;). JRiver uses import to share the data between the program and the file.

Since then I put a number of mp3 "albums" into a directory on the same disk as the other music I ripped from CDs. I now have a number of files within a single download directory. I would like to make a directory structure that has some form to allow me to keep better track of the location of the imported data. Over time I could have a large number of files.

How to I create a directory structure and move files from the top level without JRiver loosing the data?

Use MC to move the files. Use the "Rename, Move, & Copy Files..." function to create folder structures based on your library fields and move the files.
