2 stereo devices, 2 zones for front and rear channels
« on: September 11, 2016, 03:43:26 pm »

I have 2 stereo DACs connected to my PC via USB
I would like to set up JRiver to output FL and FR on device 1 and output RL and RR on device 2
Center and Sub shall be mixed into FL and FR

I have created 2 Zones already, one for device 1 and another for device 2
I have set Output as Stereo and chose no mixing, FL and FR work fine but no rear channels, even if I configure PEQ with Mix Channels (it seems that Mix channels only takes into account the FL and FR channels and omits the rest)
The same happens if I select JRSS
If I select 5.1 or 7.1 as Output I am receiving an error message that output format shall be changed to 2ch

In foobar I can use Custom Channel Mapping with ASIO4ALL, I wonder how I could have the same results in JRiver
Can anyone help please?
Thank you in advance

More info: I have linked the Zones and I am using ASIO for device 1 and WASAPI for device 2
Cheers

Let me jump on this thread and ask for a generic multichannel solution to send selected pairs of channels to multiple stereo DACs.

I have same problem.
JRiver not allow send multichannel sound on dac who cannot accept this.
I send stereo to external dac, others channels to realtek internal soundcard.

As I understand it, this will never work with external DACs that do NOT have a shared clock.  Since they use different clocks (internal to each DAC) the timing will drift.  Thus the sync between the DACs will gradually be lost.
