Import TV setting from 21 to 22?
« on: October 25, 2016, 10:28:38 am »

Is there a way to upgrade to v22 and have it import all my TV settings, recordings, etc? I tried before and nothing seemed to come over?

Thanks.

MC21 to MC22 upgrade should migrate settings correctly.

Most TV settings are saved in the same way as other settings in MC.  There is only one thing that is different - the custom TV channel ordering.  In some early builds of MC22 TV channel ordering was not copied over.  That has been fixed quite a while ago.  Therefore I do not expect any problem migrating settings from MC21 to MC22.

First, make sure you have an up to date backup of MC21, preferably a manual backup you have done just before the upgrade.

Then upgrade to MC22, and if nothing seems to come across, restore that backup you made above, including all settings.

I had to do this when I upgraded from MC21 to MC22, but I was using very early versions. Use the latest version of MC22. Most people report the upgrade moves the library across without problem.
