Hi,
I am noticing that when I convert WMA lossless files to FLAC the new FLAC files get different Volume Level (R128) and Dynamic Range (R128) values.
Why is that? I thought lossless files were identical (except for the file format).
What is the reason?

EDIT:
I also noticing that APE and M4A files get different values as well.

And when trying to convert back to WMA lossless (just so see what happens) I noticed it is not possible. The conversion never starts... How come?

In the Convert Format window (lower left), click the Options link. Is "Apply DSP" checked?

You might want to try re-analyzing your WMA lossless files.  Two reasons:
1.  If they were analyzed "during rip" they could have wrong values.  I have this happen quite frequently as my CD ripping program rips into an Auto Import directory.  So some files get analyzed half way through the rip, which makes the values wrong.
2.  The algorithm changed a while back.  It's been quite some time; before I started using MC at all actually, but I've read about it.

MC's ability to write WMA files is dependent on a library component supplied by windows itself.  In Windows 10 that component is no longer available by default.  There are some hacks that are supposed to get it working, but I don't know the details.  I've just read a few threads about it.

Thanks, but re-analyzing doesn't help. The WMA file values are the same and the new converted file gets different values.
And it's still not possible to convert back to WMA lossless...

Interesting to know is what value to rely on: the original WMA values or the converted values?
