If you attempt to playback a ripped BD on a windows client when the relevant files aren't available locally and the client video conversion option is set to "original" then you get this error message -> http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=95344.0

If you do the same on linux, it sits there thinking for a while until finally giving you the generic "something went wrong with playback" error message. While this is true, it would be nice if MC were more intelligent about a situation like this. For example spotting that the entry is unplayable as is and suggesting an appropriate conversion option automatically would be nice (on both windows and linux). Just making linux say the same thing as windows would be an improvement though.
