Right Doubel-Click = Add To Playing Now
« on: July 25, 2003, 04:19:03 am »

I was paying the toilet a visit when i came up with the idea of double right-click an item in the tree-view to ad it to Playing Now. Now Double Right-click works exactly as Double Left-Click and. It would be even cooler if u could select what function right Double-click should have.

just a thought!

That's actually a pretty solid idea although I'm not sure if I'd use a double-right click simply due to how the mouse API in Windows behaves by default;  you don't want to stray too far away from it.

Something I can think of are CTRL+LMB to Add to Playing Now and maybe even something like CTRL+RMB (or ALT+LMB) to add to the last playlist.

Yeah,
thats a good idea:

Double click = play
Shift + Double Click = Add to Playing now
Ctrl + Double Click = Add to playing now - play now
Alt + Double Click = add to blah

Photoshop does that alot and it works VERY well - it's a very powerful way to do things that doesn't effect novices at all.

Too much information I feel....

Your suggestion is really about having 2 quick ways to play tracks so you can do:
*  Add to Playing Now and
*  Play (i.e. replace playing now)

I'm with you on this but I'm not sure about the double right click idea as (correct me if I'm wrong) but it's not standard behaviour for a windows platform and not very intuitive.  I've just posted a suggestion on a similar thread where the second idea (i.e. in addition to left double click) is the ability to drag tracks on to the player display area.  So you would have to options you could set:

* Jump on play behaviour
* Drag and drop behaviour

This would do it.

Update - Nila, I like that idea too but i think mine's best!
