SOTM SMS-200 dropping from "Playing Now" tab
« on: December 30, 2016, 09:06:29 am »

Using JRiver MC22 and streaming via an SOTM SMS-200

Upon activating SOTM's DLNA function, the player appears under JRiver's "Playing Now" tab and the streamer is able to play music for 4-5 mins before being dropped from the "zone list". Only upon refreshing the player's DLNA function and then refreshing dynamic entries in JRiver does it appear again.

Initially thinking it was the streamer problem, I tried streaming via LMS and Roon and the streamer has had no issues/disconnections at all over the past week. Going back to JRiver again, the problem persists.

Under Media Network, I have the Server , Controller , Renderer all checked. I do not have a control PC separate from the music PC. Both my control and music PC are one and the same.

Any assistance on settings would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

It sounds as though the SSDP discovery or Alive notifications are getting lost. Check that your router is allowing UDP multicasts and UDP unicasts between the renderer and the MC PC. Check that there is not a firewall or av software blocking traffic to the MC PC. Also confirm that both renderer and the MC PC have IP addresses on the same subnet, and that this is the subnet that your router is routing traffic for.
