JRiver Managing Music Files on a NAS
« on: January 21, 2017, 10:53:17 am »

Currently I am running JRiver MC22 from my iMac under OS Sierra. The iMac, in turn, feeds my Cambridge Azur 851n via Ethernet. This configuration works fine. What I want to do is transfer my music files (which currently is small) to a Qnap NAS (probably the TS251) managing them with JRiver. In this configuration I would use my iMac to interface to the Qnap and the JRiver remote from an iPad.
My questions are:
1)   Can I use JRiver to manage and play back my music from the Qnap as outlined above?
2)   If yes, why does the Qnap site https://www.qnap.com/en/app_center/index.php?II=195&kw=JRiver not list JRiver as one of the apps it supports like it does for Plex for example?
