Use of Sonos and JRiver Play Engine
« on: January 20, 2017, 03:08:28 pm »

I'm on Mac of course using the latest OS. I have two Sonos Play 5 set up as a Stereo Pair along with the Sonos Sub. I use the latest version of JRiver and JRemote. I have the Sonos identified as a Generic DNLA and they show within the JRiver window as a Media Renderer.  Everything seems to work and control of the Sonos via JRemote is excellent.

However I now wonder if I'm only using the organization and control of JRiver/JRemote but the software playback engine of Sonos rather than that of JRiver. I ask because on my MacBook when I go to JRiver>Options>Audio I see a notice that says JRiver is not being used.

Can anyone explain what is going on and how to use JRiver as the playback engine?
