This is what I get on some dsd files. Any workaround? I'd like to select 2.0 for example

1.  Is the Teac really a MCH DAC?   I am not certain that JRiver can down-convert DSD multichannel to DSD stereo without a PCM intermediary and I see the 2.0 format selection (along with bass management) as grayed-out.
2.  I do not think you can do MCH DSD via DoP.  Requires too much bandwidth.

You probably don't want to use Output Encoding.  It's almost never the right thing to do.  Output Encoding is NOT necessary to play DSD files natively.  This is a very common misconception because that dialog is set up in a funny way that makes it look like the right selection.

If you're one of those guys that thinks that converting PCM to DSD makes it sound better and you're doing this on purpose, then I'll just exit the conversation and wish you good luck.  Good luck either way in fact!

UD503 is NOT a mch DAC, so iwas looking for a kind of downmix somehow

You'll also want to turn off bitstreaming.  Then set Output Format > Channels > 2  .  Output Format > Mixing > JRSS Mixing .  That will get you a 2 channel downmixed output.

On the other hand, if you're listening to a track/album that was originally 2 channel, then taking the 5.1 channel mix and converting it to 2 channel is kind of a waste.  Because the 5.1 channel mix is "made up" by the engineer; it wasn't actually recorded that way.  The down mix will be some strange approximation.  I've experimented with this with at least one well respected SACD and the MC JRSS down mixed version, from the 5.1 channel DSD mix, was kinda weird.  The 2 channel mix (original file) is better when you only have a 2 channel DAC/sound system.

Let me add that, since all this processing is done in PCM, there is no value in reconverting it to DSD for output.
