Video files - 'name' and 'filename' are different?

Hi, I've just imported a new library of video files, and many of the files are 'named' badly - that is, the thumbnail names do not all match the filenames, and in many cases they are the same (especially if from the same source) and perhaps just a character or two.

Example - filenames are "video1.mp4", "video2.mp4", "video3.mp4". Thumbnails for all 3 files are labelled "P]". The tag window for each file shows the following:

Date:
Episode: 720
Genre:
Name: P]
Season: 1280

What I want to do is delete these faulty tags, and get MC to use the filename. Oh, and I need it to do it for several thousand files ;0)

I have tried the 'remove tags' feature on a test file, and it reports success but changes nothing.
