Welcome aboard :-)
The CD should show up in "Drives & Devices" on the tree.
If you select the CD drive, the main screen should have options to Play or Rip.
Is this what you're seeing?

Not sure about a Mac Pro but on an iMac with an internal optical drive (superdrive - Optiarc DVD RW etc) you get a screen that indicates that you can Rip and Burn CDs. I attach a screen shot of what I get when a normal CD is inserted. If I put a recordable disc in the drive, nothing appears under Drives and Devices
Although ripping is now generally stable on Macs with internal drives and perhaps external drives, burning has never been available on Mac using MC and still is not. You have to burn separately using the Mac built in programs, iTunes or an external program.

There is no choices to burn a CD in MC22, Tree>Drives & Devices:
Rip Cds
Burn CDs
Sync with your handheld player
Nothing happens with these choices. More voodoo?
Same kind of magic when starting MC it lists music files that haven't been on any HD or network drives in this building for months. The program must be keeping a list of files someplace because the listed files don't exist.

Thank you folks for helping out.
Sorry I didn't post sooner, I've been ill.
