Random Tracks Queued And White Screen In Theatre View (Mac)
tony_harman:
Hi,
A couple of issues here, running MC build 22.0.75 on a Mac Mini:
1. I tend to play music using theatre view, which I prefer to use as I have the Mac connected to my living room TV. Whenever I stop the music, the screen turns completely white, with no information of any kind displayed. To get back to anything useful, I then have to switch back to standard view in the View menu, or change to another program/screen, then back to MC.
2. I haven't been able to work out exactly when this is happening, but it happens a lot and is infuriating! Sometimes, when I switch to Media Centre from another program (e.g. the Qobuz desktop app I also use to play music), or sometimes just after my playlist in MC has finished and I switch back from Theatre View (to cure the white screen problem described above!), tracks will start playing randomly!
There will only be two tracks in the 'Playing Now' section and they will be nothing I have played before that day. I clear the list, but it repopulates with two more tracks! This goes on until eventually MC gives in and I'm left with a clear playlist again.
Now, I am running Media Server and I use Bubble UpNP to control Media Centre from time to time, so I suspected something else was instructing Media Centre. However, even after re-booting the Mac, my NAS, my iPad, etc, etc, this can still happen.
Has anyone else come across this? I can't find any mention of it on the forum, but I can't believe I'm the only one. . . . . .
Thanks,
Antony

The problem still occurs with the latest version (22.0.88). I've just had the problems described happen to me today; first a white screen in Theatre View, then, after the album I was playing finished, two tracks from another random album I haven't played for weeks queues themselves up and started playing.
I right clicked in the Player window and selected 'Clear Playing Now', which cleared the two tracks, but two new tracks then queues themselves up. This fiasco continued until the album ran out of tracks.
Any suggestions to fix, please?

What version of OS X/macOS are you using, exactly?
tony_harman:
Hi Awesomedonkey,
Thanks for getting back to me. Apologies for the delay, but I've been away.
I just checked and it's Sierra v10.12.3
Late 2014 Mac Mini
1.4Ghz Core i5
4GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536MB
(not sure if any of the above helps)
Thanks,
Antony
