CD Burning Window - Right click menu
« on: July 16, 2003, 05:58:56 am »

Took this from my post in one of the build threads.
Wondering what other users think.

The right click menu on the CD-Burning screen is way way too complex.  For beginners just wanting to burn  a CD and even for me (reasonably advanced user) it is tooo overwhelming
I right clicked looking for the new re-name options and had the HUGE MC menu there.

Options like sending files in the cd writer playlist to the cd-writer again make no sense.

Burning a CD is also NOT the place to be tagging files or filling in the files properties, or renaming the files(on the hard drive) from the properties.

The CD Burning right click menu should contain items purely relivant to burning and should be something like this (in my opinion):

---------------------------
Play (to allow us to quickly see what song we have qued)
Play > (menu)
---------------------------
Edit Selected Item
Edit >
Properties
Delete
---------------------------
CD File Naming >
CD Folder Naming >
---------------------------
Save Burnlist
Create CD Labels
---------------------------
CD-Text
Erase CD-RW
Close Disc
Burn Settings
---------------------------
Update Order (only appears when it actually is something that needs to be done)
---------------------------

Right now the menu is just way too overwhelming and unrelated to the task in hand.

Anyone else agree/disagree?
