I am reporting a weird problem: values entered in tags are disappearing. In my case from 'composition' fields and also from album field

Is there a way to backup the database? Or just copy it somewhere elese periodically?

Please advise and report if somebody else has experienced this

The database backs up automatically every 3 days, and you can back it up manually any time

What do you mean the tags "disappear"?  You can't see them in MC, or another program?

Try selecting a file and doing 'update from file' and see if the empty value pulls in?

It seems to me JRiver take the initiative to rescan the database and get the tags from the internet or something weird like this ...
How do I restore a backup?
How can I update from File? I went to Audio -> file - right click but nothing ...
What also happens when I tag remotely is that sometimes the tags are not acquired (disappears from the remote client windows)

MC doesn't do anything with tags that it isn't told to do.  i can't speculate what might have happened

to restore a backup

File > Library > Restore Library

to try to update the tags

right click a file > Library Tools > Update Library (from Tags)

Are you working on a client machine?  If so, you need to turn authentication on at the server side, under Media Network settings.  Otherwise the client won't update  the server.
