A breaking change was introduced a few releases back which makes it so a slideshow is paused when the user manually advances, say by pressing Next. Additionally, the pan and zoom animation is no longer applied on manual advances. I think it would be pretty hard to argue that this change is an improvement over the old behavior, so I'm confused about why it was made. I've brought it up before, and asked for a fix, but was ignored. I suggested either add an option to control the behavior, or make it so Play advances the slideshow without pausing, which would an OK compromise. I also suggested that Play really should resume a paused slideshow, regardless. Now, my question is why not do something to fix this? Why would you purposefully degrade the user's experience without even offering an option for it?
