my mad dog is doing a s l o w burn
« on: July 16, 2003, 11:52:43 am »

i just bought a new mad dog 52x cdrw to rip stuff for my 'pod.  using 9.1.214.  sometimes it works great; other times it starts at say 5.2, and just stops at the first song, or crawls along at a pathetic .3

the drive is a slave to a lite on dvd drive, which consistently rips at 10-15.  do i have a bad mad dog (bad dog!) or do i have some other problem?  the cable are ok, and i can burn to the mad dog if i wish (but generally just need it to  rip my cds for my pod.  i may return it.

what is the faastest cdrw, reasonably priced please, for ripping cds to mp3?

thanks!

It all depends on the quality and format that your ripping.

Just because you have a 52X reader doesn't mean that's what's gonna happen.

Also depends on how scratched the cd's are.

I have a 48X and usually rip at around 3-4x

Didn't you just post a new thread with this same question a few days ago?  ;)
