[JRiver22] Connection through VPN
« on: April 07, 2017, 03:21:12 am »

Hello
this has been asked in the apst but i am into trouble so I revamp the issue
the PC where JRiver server runs is connected to the Internet through PureVPN
When using the connection through the access key the JRiver client on my office PC correctly try to connect using the brand new IP generated by the VPN but connection attempt fails
I also tried to connect using the <internal server address>:52199 (I opened the 52199 port on the riuter for both TCP and UPD) but no success again
Other server (e.g. teamviewer) operates correctly through VPN
Please help

Things are getting worse ... I disconnected from VPN but I cannot connect to JRiver Server any longer ... either using the access key or using th explicit IP ... The client PC is chasing the old VPN IP address ... it looks like JRiver is not updating remotely the access options ... :(

I am trying to open port 52199 of my router and I can't. The test http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ says that port is closed :(
I disable the antivirus on the media server pc  - AVG - but it does not help ...

ok, the issue was the AVG antivirus which I uninstalled from the PC housing the JRiver 22 server
The TCP 52199 port is open in my router and I can connect from outside my home using <my_ip>:52199
I can connect with that PC using pure VPN (SSTP option), i.e. I can surf, torrent etc. but the JRiver server cannot be seen from outside
The VPN IP changes whenever I reconnect (las byte, eg. from a.b.c.d to a.b.c.e).
Does the access key tracking keep track of these changingin IPs?
BYW, I cannot connect from the web intervace by typing a.b.c.d:52199  or a.b.c.e:52199) when vpn is connected
