JRemote - feature requests
« on: May 04, 2017, 08:56:52 pm »

1: When using the "Remote" feature of JRemote and selecting Theater View, there is direct access for Audio and Video; can you add one for TV Shows as well?  Typical use is Audio/Movies/TV Shows.

2: It would also be useful to have an U/D/L/R control

3: Subtitles - ability to access subtitles would be incredibly useful.  long-hold that rapidly shows various menus is near useless.  frustrating enough i want to throw the ipad against the wall (but I wont).

There's so little that needs to be done to make this an awesome app.

You can create playlists and add songs to them using JRemote. Would love to be able to delete songs from a playlist as well.

I don't see a way to delete a file from the MC library using JRemote.  For example, I'd like to delete a video episode from a TV Series once I've watched it.

I would love to see direct USB DAC access to allow for higher sample rate and DSD decoding.

You can get USB dac access ...

I have MC server on my Big PC  with JRemote on an iPad mini

I use the Apple camera kit which is Lightning one end USB female the other. Then Audioquest Dragonfly Red to phones

Set JRemote to zone This Device and voila. I get up to 24/96 the limit of the Red

It tends to chew the iPad battery a bit but ...

I haven't tried USB to a Dac USB input but I see no reason why it shouldn't work

I use the same set up with a std laptop as well.

I'm using an android device with my DragonFly Black, so the experience may be different, but does your DragonFly recognize different sample rates from other source material (44.1,48,88.2) or does it see it all as 96khz?

I would like the possibility to use the JRemote app also with no connection with the JRiver server. Is it possible to just consult the information in my library offline (Library metadata, etc.)? I often want to look up my library information, also when not using JRiver to play music.

feature requests (Download files and play DSD through lightning port)
« Reply #10 on: June 18, 2017, 10:51:26 am »

It would be nice if there was a "download" function so you could play files offline when you are not on WiFi. Also I just got an OPPO HA-2 DA converter and headphone amp and I was disappointed to find JRemote will not send DSD signals throughs the lightning port only PCM. I had to purchase the Onkyo player which will play DSD through the lightning port but it will not stream them from a server I have to load the files on the device which is problematic since they are so big...
