Theater view : display a category only if there's something in it

I created a "Records" category for TV recordings, showing anything that's in the TV Recording folder.
Normally once I watched something I remove the recording from the disk, so I'm wondering how I could achieve a dynamic behavior of this "Records" category, so that it only shows up if anything is to be displayed, kind of the blu ray/dvd disc category.
Any hint ?
