The settings in mc will not affect the playback of tracks via jremote on the ipad itself, crossfade will be a function for mc playback only.

oh right, but the description in jremote says "JRemote can stream music and video to your device with gapless playback"

Gapless means that no extra silence is inserted between tracks. This is important for albums where the sound is continuous from track to track. In a system that does NOT do gapless, these albums sound wrong because a small amount of silence gets put in between each track, which breaks the continuous sound.
Cross fade is a different term and a different technique that blends to tracks together during the 2 or 3 seconds as one song is ending and the other is starting. Cross fade alters the original tracks (at the beginning and end) as they are played. Gapless does not alter anything.
I hope that helps.
Brian.

Yes, cracking indeed! Any chance crossfade gets added to JRemote?

JRemote is a good purchase, but no-one seems to want to update features within it.
Crossfade would be brilliant and make streaming music superb, i tend too use Spotify for this feature, but would love jremote to have this
